Blue tent is now officially one year into our production teams using NetSuite as a full-time project management tool. I thought it would be pretty neat to share with the nation how we have customized the dashboard of our departmental directors. Our company is comprised of five main departments. We include things like search engine optimization and email marketing in different departments. As business continues to grow, and we look for ways to give our managers real-time in up to date information making NetSuite dashboards even more essential. Let's use our search engine optimization

I can't believe it's already close to the middle of July. As this summer continues to move into full swing business at blue tent continues to do well. Just last week our director of sales and I headed to the outer banks of North Carolina. This story should resonate well with other NetSuite users. The nightmares of not having access to your data and company information is now days of old.

I wanted to wish the Netsuite nation a happy 4th of July. As everyone rolls into full summer swing, it's always important to remember the nightmare Blue Tent was in just two summers ago. Our company was running three separate and independent software systems. One for sales. One for accounting. One for project management. It was two years ago that we decided to make the march toward an integrated online software system. I am reminded as the second quarter came to an end of the efficiencies Blue Tent has experienced by our move to an integrated system. There are so many choices w

As VP of Marketing and Production at Blue Tent Marketing, I rely Netsuite to manage a team of 20 marketing professionals across our web design and development, search engine marketing and web analytics, email marketing, and account services teams. Having an enterprise-level, web-based business software application to help manage my team as well as all of our client projects has been indispensable. Following are three key components of Netsuite that allow me to better manage the production team and all of our associated projects:
1) Resource Management

I was talking to a customer the other day about Netsuite and we both remarked how incredible it was to be able to stay connected to our business even when we on the road or out of the office. The ability to have true enterprise level business software available when you're away from the office has many many benefits. Here are a few of my top - "why I love remote access"
- I have real time access to sales pipe line. In my role I come in and help our sales representatives. This is big, we know all know 2010 is about sales!

The last Blue Tent department adopted the new project management software from Netsuite at the beginning of September. Our team is now fully entrenched in the project systems so I thought I would share a few highlights and a few of the challenges that we faced so that the Netsuite nation has a better understanding of how the tools work, where we hit road blocks and what you can do to avoid the mistakes we made.

As Blue Tent continues to integrate the project management tools that Netsuite continues to refine and grow, I wanted to outline some of the processes and insight we are gaining from this transition and see if any other Netsuite customers are seeing the same. It starts with the fundamental business process of your company. In Blue Tent’s case we are a service and consulting company. We build websites, put clients at the top of Google and send relevant email messages.

I thought it would be of interest to keep the update going on Blue Tent’s full integration of Netsuite into our CRM, accounting and project management processes. We have been talking about the nightmare of not being able to control and run your business from anywhere and being tied to your in-house accounting software.

As many of you know I have been posting on the progress we have been having with our full transition to the business accounting software from Netsuite. I have outlined the nightmare of not knowing if revenue matched production, if our time inputs matched the bills….all fun things to worry about for a small and growing company. The SaaS model that Netsuite offers is in and of it’s self pretty amazing!
