Netsuite CRM Use

By: peter@bluetent.com Tuesday, August 3, 2010 - 7:39am

Netsuite CRM Use:
We are getting ready here to start a new marketing push to current clients to help the move forward with a Google Apps implementation.  I posted a few months back about our transfer to a single Google email system and in the weeks since our company has taken advantage of many of the collaboration documents and spreadsheets.  In the  last few months our IT director completed all the necessary steps to become a Google Apps certified consultant.  So now it's time to sell! We are working on a series of Netsuite reports to mine our customer data base for the most likely candidates to offer this service. This has been a great eye opener for our top level management .....  we always "thought" we were utilizing Netsuites software as a service CRM "well"....but we found we have a LOT of work to do! Two things came out of this next generation of CRM use..... First we see that as an organization we have to do a much better job of capturing information about our customers businesses. Read more »

Netsuite and Google Apps

By: bluetent Thursday, March 18, 2010 - 3:14pm

I saw this week that Netsuite is moving toward a tighter integration with Google Apps. This news was of interest to me as Blue Tent Marketing is moving all of our 35 employees to Google Apps this week. As a company we are always looking to avoid the nightmares of software and application changes and this move seems like a natural one for us. We have spent the better part of the last six months getting our Netsuite tuned up very very tight. Our CRM functions are going so well, our financial reports and accounting, nailed.....our projects, on track. Read more »

More CRM Updates for 2010

By: bluetent Friday, January 8, 2010 - 7:49am

Netsuite Nation, here we are, it's 2010 and time to get back to it after what I hope was a nice holiday season. Last week i talked a bit about ideas for your to use your CRM or Customer Relationship Software more effectively. When a small or mid-sized business decides to take on a SFA or CRM project, there are many paths to choose. First you need to decide on your software platform, next you need to map out the process for implementation and of course you need to stick with your agenda and execute! I'd love to hear some ways that others in the Nation are using Read more »

Three Tips for Better use of the Netsuite Customer Relationship Management Software (CRM) Functions

I know that many of us are still shaking off the dust from what I hope was a fun and safe holiday season. Many of us are putting the final touches on planning for what we all hope will be a solid 2010. As I finalize plans for our marketing and sales teams we have tried to boil down our three most specific needs in regards to use of our Netsuite CRM tool set.

Here they are:

Customer Relationship Management in Netsuite

By: bluetent Tuesday, December 8, 2009 - 9:53am

It has been amazing to see not only at Blue Tent Marketing, but also with so many of our small to mid sized customers the move toward more attention to CRM functions with day to day business. Blue Tent Marketing has been running Netsuite for over 6 years. In the last 12 months our full use of the tool has grown significantly. One area we have focused our attention is on the CRM side of our data base. It has been a strategic push for the last few years, but just over the last 12 months have we really started using Read more »

Netsuite as a cash flow machine

By: bluetent Wednesday, November 11, 2009 - 5:00pm

I am sure that everyone is battling a bit with cash flow in these tight economic times. Our company has been looking at ways to move our customers to a more automated payment process. The questions began when we started spending so much time trying to collect for $26/month hosting contracts…. A real pain and also quite unprofitable. So how can we use our Netsuite accounting software and CRM functions to mine our customer data and make sure we have a crystal clear understanding of how each of our 400ish customers is set up to pay? Netsuite as a Customer Relation Tool

By: bluetent Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - 8:01am

I thought this week I would outline some of the ways that Blue Tent is starting to optimize our use of the Netsuite tool to have greater visibility into our customers and prospects. When we originally adopted Netsuite, it was as a CRM or customer relationship management tool. Over the last three years we have seen our focus shift to the operation aspects of the tool. The focus on accounting software and operational project use has pretty much consumed our optimization focus and time. As many of us in the nation know we need to continually refine and define what our customers and prospects are doing and how the enter our sales and marketing cycles. This last month our in-house optimization wizard Jay has begun to refine our customer picture. This has accomplished a few strategic goals. Read more »

Going Green with Cloud Computing

By: bluetent Tuesday, October 27, 2009 - 11:37am

With all the buzz around going green, I came across this article in InfoWorld ( http://www.infoworld.com/d/cloud-computing/businesses-should-demand-tax-break-cloud-computing-407 ) and thought, hey, why not? The author is arguing that if the government is going to give tax breaks for things like tinted office windows, using geothermal heat pumps or driving hybrids, why not cloud computing too? Based on the findings that cloud computing saves the same per year as the annual electricity consumption of 56,000 homes and reduces greenhouse gas Read more »

Netsuite is starting to roll for Blue Tent

By: bluetent Tuesday, October 13, 2009 - 7:24am

This week I am feeling very bullish on our Netsuite software package. Our COO Jay Scherrer is going the extra distance to really fold the software application to our specific needs. It occurred to me that we really have made so much progress with the accounting system, the project tasks and the CRM tools that we can almost raise the “Mission Accomplished” banner! Read more »

Netsuite on the Road

By: bluetent Tuesday, September 15, 2009 - 9:42am

I remember the nightmares of times past when you used to go into a black hole of financial and project quite when you would leave the office. This is especially true now when while its always great to get away from the office, shutting down is not possible. Cash flow is king these days for our business and it seems like every day we are dealing with decisions on client accounts for slow payment etc. To have access to our business accounting software from anywhere, this allows me to spend a small amount of time on accounts, but make a big impact.
