By: peter@bluetent.com Tuesday, July 20, 2010 - 7:41am

Blue tent is now officially one year into our production teams using NetSuite as a full-time project management tool.  I thought it would be pretty neat to share with the nation how we have customized the dashboard of our departmental directors.  Our company is comprised of five main departments.  We include things like search engine optimization and email marketing in different departments.  As business continues to grow, and we look for ways to give our managers real-time in up to date information making NetSuite dashboards even more essential.  Let's use our search engine optimization Read more »

Mid July - Accounting Software Thoughts

By: peter@bluetent.com Tuesday, July 13, 2010 - 9:53am

I can't believe it's already close to the middle of July.  As this summer continues to move into full swing business at blue tent continues to do well.  Just last week our director of sales and I headed to the outer banks of North Carolina.  This story should resonate well with other NetSuite users.  The nightmares of not having access to your data and company information is now days of old. 4th of July and Software

By: peter@bluetent.com Sunday, July 4, 2010 - 2:40pm

I wanted to wish the Netsuite nation a happy 4th of July.  As everyone rolls into full summer swing, it's always important to remember the nightmare Blue Tent was in just two summers ago.  Our company was running three separate and independent software systems.  One for sales.  One for accounting.  One for project management.  It was two years ago that we decided to make the march toward an integrated online software system.  I am reminded as the second quarter came to an end of the efficiencies Blue Tent has experienced by our move to an integrated system.  There are so many choices w Read more »

CRM functions and why you need to have accounting talk to sales

By: peter@bluetent.com Thursday, July 1, 2010 - 7:08am

This summer will prove to be either a big move for small/ midsized business or it may go down as the Titanic. It's up to each of us as leaders to make sure that nightmare does not happen to our business. One of the things we are doing at Blue Tent is an in-depth customer segmentation process. In the first 4 months of the year we saw many small to mid sized businesses really starting to spend more and focus more on growth. As of the last 45 days, we have seen things cool down a bit. Old Company / Early Adopter

By: prosoap Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 5:18am

ProSoap has been manufacturing industrial hand cleaner for over 31 years by a combination of sales by 800-PRO-SOAP and now ProSoap.com. When the company started in late 1977, almost everything was done by paper, but even then we considered ourselves early adopters of next generation business applications.

In fact, ProSoap still has in our building the first computer that our company ever used, the infamous Radio Shack TRS-80; serial number# 000000044. That's right, out of the 10,000 or so TRS-80 ever made, we had one of the first.

Jumping right in - Lets talk search

By: bbowyer Tuesday, July 7, 2009 - 1:24pm

Having been a Netsuite customer for over 3 years, I'm happy to see a new site for sharing customer experience. I'm hopeful that opportunities will present themselves to share some of the custom applications we and others have created, and integrated into Netsuite.

Looking at our experience over the past three years, we have certainly transitioned though several periods of growth with the application. While the accessibility is fantastic, and the IT headaches removed, I would put a lot of stock in the alert and search components of the system.

I feel that our ability to leverage our data is greater now than in any other system we have used. The push capability of the search-based alerts is fantastic  - and drives some critical event notification for our users. Like twitter coming directly from the ERP to specific users. We are a sales company - and the data sharing b/w our people is critical to our success. Read more »
