Old Company / Early Adopter
ProSoap has been manufacturing industrial hand cleaner for over 31 years by a combination of sales by 800-PRO-SOAP and now ProSoap.com. When the company started in late 1977, almost everything was done by paper, but even then we considered ourselves early adopters of next generation business applications.
In fact, ProSoap still has in
our building the first computer that our company ever used, the
infamous Radio Shack TRS-80; serial number# 000000044. That's right,
out of the 10,000 or so TRS-80 ever made, we had one of the first.
That
was just one of the early adopter changes that ProSoap made in the
course of its history, but I particularly remember that one. One of the
projects that took a lot of the team's time was writing programs and
code that could handle simple items such as accounts receivable.
Finding a customer balance back then was a project in itself. I was too
young, but my Dad told me that he used to spend hours into the night
trying to work with those computers to ensure a productive work day.
Obviously, we didn't work like that for one minute longer than what was
required.
Over the years, we found programs that could do a
better job of delivering a better employee and customer experience.
Unfortunately, all the programs were from different companies and thus
integration was only a dream. We learned (the hard way) that a lot of
companies promised easy integration from various applications, and come
to find out they were dreaming too.
In 2002, we found Netsuite
on the inside flap of a software magazine. Interesting concept, fully
integrated from one company and all the information is hosted somewhere
else. Hmm...the soap sprockets were turning at the possibility of no
down time from servers crashing on Sunday night (Why did our old
servers always seem to crash on Sunday night?). We instantly loved the
idea of Netsuite hosting all the information in one easy application.
When our old servers would crash, we had to send everyone but the
techies home for multiple days. No one liked that.
Netsuite has
helped our company deliver more to our employees and to our customers.
When we have a new hire, we always get comments about how simple, yet
impressive, Netsuite is compared to their previous customer service
job.
