Netsuite as a tool for operations
As Blue Tent continues to integrate the project management tools that Netsuite continues to refine and grow, I wanted to outline some of the processes and insight we are gaining from this transition and see if any other Netsuite customers are seeing the same. It starts with the fundamental business process of your company. In Blue Tent’s case we are a service and consulting company. We build websites, put clients at the top of Google and send relevant email messages. The problem we had before we brought Netsuite to the center of our project management process was that we had no way to connect revenue directly to time spent on projects. A web project can take anywhere from two weeks to six months. Blue Tent needed to have the ability to track project profitability and resource usage with a direct tie to sales orders. Netsuite has the ability for us to now complete the circle of information so that our sales team can sell our most profitable project types, our account management team can give estimates of delivery dates and our accounting team can tell us in real time “how we are doing”. The Netsuite process takes the nightmare of knowing that you are throwing money, time and opportunity away because your project management is in adequate. Ill continue to post on the project process as it seems like Blue Tent is learning weekly how to better streamline our project process and optimize the use of our Netsuite to more effectively manage our customer deliverables.
