NetSuite: Let Me Count The Ways I Love Thee
As VP of Marketing and Production at Blue Tent Marketing, I rely Netsuite to manage a team of 20 marketing professionals across our web design and development, search engine marketing and web analytics, email marketing, and account services teams. Having an enterprise-level, web-based business software application to help manage my team as well as all of our client projects has been indispensable. Following are three key components of Netsuite that allow me to better manage the production team and all of our associated projects:
1) Resource Management
Netsuite's resource management reports make it easy to keep track of who's doing what. No matter where I am, or where my employees are working from, Netsuite's web-based platform makes it a snap to log time against client projects. And it just as easy to run reports on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to see who is contributing to what projects. This helps me to determine where to allocate resources, and also gives me much needed visibility into any issues before it's too late.
2) Project Management
Expanding upon Netsuite's base functionality to include project management for our website, search marketing, web analytics, email marketing, and account services projects has been instrumental in developing a 360-degree view of our business processes. Being able to pass a closed project from sales into production seamlessly within a single software platform has increased efficiency and accuracy. Combined with the ability to communicate and collaborate on projects across teams and with clients is also key. Add in the resource management and project cost accounting functionality, and I've got a complete view of each project's profitability.
3) Client Management
Having a centralized platform for customer relationship management is also a key feature. With a few clicks, I'm able to look up clients, find all associated projects, contact information, credentials, as well as look up any recent transactions and invoices. We also utilize Netsuite to manage our customer support process for logging issues, delegating to the right resource for completion, and through to billing for payment.
At the end of the day, Netsuite provides a comprehensive web-based platform that enables me to quickly access the information that I, and my team, need to effectively run a successful internet marketing business.
