Netsuite and Google Apps

By: bluetent Thursday, March 18, 2010 - 3:14pm

I saw this week that Netsuite is moving toward a tighter integration with Google Apps. This news was of interest to me as Blue Tent Marketing is moving all of our 35 employees to Google Apps this week. As a company we are always looking to avoid the nightmares of software and application changes and this move seems like a natural one for us. We have spent the better part of the last six months getting our Netsuite tuned up very very tight. Our CRM functions are going so well, our financial reports and accounting, nailed.....our projects, on track. So whats left....it looks like this tight integration is going to be something to look at. We will have our Google Apps set up this week and Ill have my team looking to tie this directly into Netsuite over the next few weeks. Ill keep everyone posted on progress. Has anyone on this blog tried to do this yet? Let us all know how it's working. Good luck!

With suitescript you can do some simple integration with Google Apps today. Here is a nice tutorial on how to embed Google Calendar to your dashboard:

Daston, one of the providers at SuiteApps also provides a more sophisticated integration tool for Google Calendar:

HAven't tried the netsuite integration, but moved our co to apps over the past few weeks. A few tips - if you use pst files - migrate them up tto google via the google sync app. Very easy and then everythign is online (we had a hosted exchange with only 100MB online, so used pst extensively). Other thing to keep in mind - if you use Blackberry (we are old school vs oPhone), they BB sync is only one way. I.e. changes you make on your BB are synced (reads/deletes), but changes you make on other clients (webmail/outlook client) are NOT sync'd down. Anyway - hope all works out - and I'm interested to hear how the netsuite-gmail integration testing goes.
