Netsuite Accounting - More End Of Year Success

By: bluetent Tuesday, January 26, 2010 - 3:25pm

As I posted last week our end of year accounting has been significantly helped by our full transition to Netsuite. Our in house bookkeeping team has been able to work with our CPA to close our 2009 faster than I can ever remember. The ability to access netsuite over the Internet from any location has helped us steer away from the on site meetings, long drawn out conversations and has allowed us to do our CPA and bookkeeping work. A few things that I have noticed this year as opposed to some of the nightmares we have had in the past. First, we have had quicker access to information from our accounting software. This has allowed us to see problems and quickly answer questions that in the past could have taken longer to find and fix. Second, we have built a system where we have the right people at the right time working on their respective tasks. For example, our CPA has questions about a particular journal entry, well now with access to our systems online, our CPA can see all of our JE's over the Internet and not have to call a costly and time consuming in person meeting. The last big advantage we have seen this year is the organizational insight into lines of business. This is where we can measure what departments are doing from a cost and revenue perspective quicker at the close of the year. This entire accounting process has made our budget and forecast process better and more effective.
